This recall notice applies to Valor 1150ILP/JLP fireplaces with the following model numbers:
- 1150ILP/JLP Propane Gas Fireplaces
- Serial Number Range: 1150P20001 - 1150P21502
We have confirmed an issue with propane models 1150ILP and 1150JLP where, over years of use, they may develop a delay in main burner ignition during start up. The pressure from this delayed ignition may cause the glass front to break posing a laceration hazard.
We ask affected customers to stop using the fireplace until the appropriate corrective field action can be undertaken.
Locate your Serial Number
Can't find your serial number? Follow the steps below for instructions on locating your serial number.
- Remove barrier screen from unit.
- Remove right side panel from unit.
- The Fireplace and Lighting information is located on a card to the right hand side of the fireplace box.
- The Fireplace and Lighting card will provide your model and serial number as shown in the image.

Identify an H5 1150
In order to identify if your H5 is subject to this recall, please find your serial number using the information above. This unit would have been direct vented off the rear or top of the fireplace, either straight out the wall, up and out the wall, or up through the roof of the home. We have provided visuals of each of the trim options available on the H5 to help identify. Please note that this model was strictly sold with the Traditional Log Set only.
